UNITY THEATRE ENSEMBLE REBOOTS WITH ENCORE OF

“MAKE A JOYFUL NOISE!”

After a five (5) year hiatus, Unity Theatre Ensemble returns to the stage with an encore of its original gospel musical, Make a Joyful Noise, December 8 and 9, 2017, at the Ivory Theatre, 7622 Michigan Avenue, St. Louis, Missouri.  Performances are Friday and Saturday evenings at 8:00 P.M and a matinee performance on Saturday at 3 P.M.

Make a Joyful Noise is a celebration of life and living it in the new millennium and the many opportunities to express thanks to a greater power than ourselves amidst the onset of what scripture calls "perilous times". With a human need to understand and cope with recent tragic events such Hurricanes Harvey and Maria, the senseless mass shootings, the racial divisions, unjust actions, irrational decision-making and the economic challenges of today, Make A Joyful Noise is right on time.

Written by the creative team of Ralph E. Greene, Artistic Director of Unity Theatre Ensemble, and Bishop John Selders, musical composer, arranger and musical director, Make A Joyful Noise was well received when it premiered in August 1996. Since 1996, this ground breaking musical and its prophetic message has had four successful encore production runs.

Make A Joyful Noise is an inspirational experience with a score of traditional and original contemporary gospel songs that exalt Hope, Thanks and Praise!

Make A Joyful Noise is a non denominational production which addresses universal problems and provides solutions for all people regardless to race, religion or culture.  Life affects the human race and has no respect of person.

This production will feature the vocal and dramatic talents of Herman Gordon, Shelley Miller, Jennifer Kelley, Raphaelle Darden, Karen Matkins, Sam Huddleston, Carol Saxton, Toni Stubblefield, Thomasina Clarke, Steven Williams and Karl Clark.  Choreography is by Andrea Smythe.

Advance tickets are $20.00 general admission and may be purchased at Afro World, Inc. (314) 389-5194, online at www.eventbrite.com or by phone order.   Tickets purchased at the door are $25.00.
